Now for the philosophy moment. I have never believed in fate or destiny but that we live in a chaotic system filled with random events that we attempt to bring order out of. I dont believe in some divine plan that we are puppets being manipulated by some cosmic puppetmaster. Yet some things occur that cause me to wonder if perhaps indeed there is an order that is ours to discover. This weekend after almost two decades I was able to reconnect with my brother. What makes this even more peculiar is he had chatted with a former coworker a few days earlier. Then couple that with my fumbling around on facebook, where I lost half my friends list, and I stumble across his page. I cant begin to estimate the odds of these events converging in what seems to be some sort of divine intervention moment. Not that this changes anything but my hardened world view of chaotic systems and random chance. All I know is I am delighted by this event but it is events like these that give us pause to wonder.
