Now man has reached the age of 58 today, what a life what a journey. How far back does one remember ? Maybe to an age of 4 or 5 . A childhood of running through fields and having the freedom from parents that knew at the end of the day I would return safe from my ventures . Growing up with a brother and three sisters all of whom I love with all my heart :) A youth that was split between learning about working and girls to becoming one of Britains best trained soldiers a Royal Marine. Several children, grandchildren and great grand children have blessed my life although I have been distant in theirs . Life goes on no matter where one is on this planet love is in the heart. Many a time I have sat and thought If Only but it doesnt work that way . They are all in my heart and we meet when we meet such is life remembering that I live at the top of the world . I have mine they have theirs and each path leads to where it leads . Friends I cannot begin to think how many they have been in many countries and over 800 have I contact with today , so maybe an impression was made :) Have I learnt anything? Yes both good and bad, lovely and painfull and I often find myself thinking What if but I have come to the conclusion that things happen for a reason. For example if I had not left somebody then I would not have had my son who means so much to me and is my reason for living . Am I wiser ? I would like to think so, I do know I have sympathy and empathy for others that need it and will do my very best if someone needs someone to talk to or a hand to hold onto. Brothers from other mothers have I in their thousands and am very proud to be a member of the biggest , bestest, family in the world , Her Majesties Royal Marines. Friends I have made around this planet many who have contact with me today . If I am lucky then I will enjoy all of this for years to come and can maybe spend some time travelling and greeting those that have actually touched my life. We will meet if it is meant to be, our paths will cross and if not then it has been a pleasure to have had you in my life so far . Happy Birthdaay to me Youras aye RAB :) / ALAN:)
