Now presenting The Hobbit Battle of The Five Armys. A new comedy by Peter Jackson. (Spoilers) 1. Smaug doesnt make it through the opening credits. A character they spent an entire movie on, a movie that ended with the big bad dragon about to bring Death and fire to an entire town, brings death, fire, then the dragons own death in literally less than ten mins of this movie. -Two feet out of the evil city of Dol Guldur, Gandalf is in fighting condition again, after dangling over in a cage for days. He goes from almost dead to raring to go in minutes! (Also, they missed a possible love story between Gandalf and Galadriel.) -Galadriel goes all spirit from the Ring on us, and banishes Sauroman. Showing, I guess, that she doesnt handle break ups well. - Thorins Dragon Fever detox hallucination. -Pointless shot of Gandalf on a horse. What is he, the Old Spice Guy?? -The ACTUAL love story in this movie is completely ruined after spending the whole end of the last one and the first half of this one building up their star crossed situation. But rather than just ending it, we spend two and a half minutes going back and forth between their dramatic looks of loss as hes being impaled by some sort sharpened war maul! IN THE CHEST!! - S l o w m o t i o n . If you condensed all of the slow motion in this movie to real time, it would be half as long. - They managed to make John Rhys-Davies, whos 6 1, a dwarf without making him completely CGI, why couldnt they do the same for Billy Connolly? -Your mother loved you. What? That was in question? Are you telling me that Legolas has mommy issues, which he has been hiding so well the audience had no clue, but his emotionally distant father could tell that this was bugging him. Also, In the wilds, hes called Strider...Youll have to discover his real name for yourself. But you know his name, why cant you just tell it to me and save me some time? -The heroes are losing, all hope is lost! The eagles are coming! *sigh. Of course they are. BTW, I am well aware of how bad this was compared to the book. I didnt forget. I just wanted to point out what is wrong with the movie otherwise.
