Now that Gov. Malloy has declared a state of emergency over the ebola issue, I would like to encourage anyone reading this page to talk to your family members and take steps to provide for an emergency situation. What if there is a curfew and you cannot get out? What if you cannot get groceries because panic causes fear and chaos and people start hoarding things? Perhaps some of you were Boy Scouts or Girls Scouts. My brother made Eagle Scout, but Im afraid I was a Scout Dropout. The Scouts motto is, Be Prepared. I know that it is difficult for some to even put food on the table daily, let alone stock up on supplies, but I would urge you to try. Make it a family affair. Take a book out of the library on camping and learn to make a fire. Learn to cook over an open fire. Learn about edible and poisonous berries. Lets use this time to look out for our neighbors, especially the elderly and disabled. But, as you do, please do not share what you are doing in case of an emergency on this page. Keep that between and your family. I hope you all realize that NOTHING is private any longer in this world. Be vigilant. Be not afraid. Keep your eyes on the Lord. And dont forget to pray for peace.
