Now that I have (or attempting to have) Obama Care, I can officially say that the process SUCKS! After numerous (and I mean numerous) attempts to contact the Maryland Health Exchange, I received an email from them that they dont return phone calls due to the number of inquires so to look for my answers on the website. Well, that is why I called them to begin with. So I finally got in touch with a private broker who has worked her butt off for me. I sent in what was requested immediately as I am getting (trying to ) insurance during a non-enrollment time. I had the insurance company who I had for COBRA send the docs needed and then last week they pop up and say they need something else. Well I have been sick since Sunday and went to make a doctors appt. then realized I dont have insurance. My broker chic has been arguing with both the Exchange and BC/BS since Monday as I was supposed to have an Oct. 1st start date. We now have to file a complaint with the Maryland Commission against both the Exchange and BC/BS - oh what fun this is!!!!!
