Now that Pride is WAY over and Ive had lots of time to decompress - TopicsExpress

Now that Pride is WAY over and Ive had lots of time to decompress and watch all the wonderful videos and see all the great pictures, I have a few things to say and some people to thank. Thanks to Dustin Hampton/ Miranda LAmour, Kari Thomas Utterback and Mark A Runyan for putting your faith in me to run the pageant and show. Its worth noting that the Pride Pageant doubled the money that they brought in the previous year. Congrats again to Monique LaRoux and Ben Eaten-Boheme who were the Pride Pageant winners for 2014. My apologies to Ben, who, do to a breakdown in communication was excluded from the Pride Show. I emailed him, he didnt get it til about 8 days before Pride and I had unfortunately replaced him in the show by that time thinking he didnt want to do the show. All around a clusterf**k. That was my failing as an organizer, not his choice. I apologize WHOLE-HEARTEDLY for that. Monique, your performances were wonderful, and I LIVED for our Trio at Pride. I only wish I had more appearance type stuff for you and Ben to do thru the year so you all truly got a reign. To Kandi Lane, thank you for stepping in at the last minute. You are (and I probably dont need to tell you this) a phenomenal performer. I wished youd let me lick your eyebrows off for added comedy, but who knows what the future holds. To Hunter (HX Wills), THANK YOU for coming down from KC. I was THRILLED that Mark had you already booked when he handed me the reigns. You are our Hometown Boy regardless of your current city of residence. The final number at Pride WAS THE SHIT!! The cast for that number gave up numerous hours of UNPAID personal time (that they somehow managed to turn into free time) to practice and rehearse the hell out of that number. Right up til 20 minutes before showtime, we were reheasing that number. Coco Fantasee, Aieta Buffet, Atheena Voce, Sheerah Funn Pleazure, Jennicka Fierz and Allessandra Blaze were DEDICATED to making sure that number was flawless. Unfortunately, I boogered it up on the back row and did my best to screw up almost every move I had!! Ive never worked with a more poised, professional group of ladies, boys or ladyboys! You all made that day for me! It was the coolest Pride Ive ever been to. Thank you to Marty and the SoCo Club for providing us a place to do what we do every week and for the rehearsal space leading up to the show. WE APPRECIATE EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR US!! To my dancing boys, (who didnt get to dance) Will Dunkin, William Ellison and Cameron Lee, I really wished that everyones schedules would have stayed the same. You all sure would have made my hot, melted ass look prettier on that stage! Greg Stratton, aka DJ Scooby, THANK YOU for braving the heat and spinning the tunes all day. It was great to know you were at the helm of the U.S.S. Soundsystem! MOST IMPORTANTLY- THANK YOU TO THE MidMO PrideFest CROWD!! Braving temperatures that made hell look like the North Pole, tipping each of these performers and staying til the end of, what was, the most miserably hot day of my entire fat, sweaty life! I hope you were endlessly entertained and enjoyed yourself SO MUCH that your already counting down the days til next years Pridefest! If you cant wait to see what were up to, I invite and encourage you to catch a show at the SoCo Club. Aieta is every Thursday for Divas by Design. Atheena has Saturdays Babes in Boyland. Amanda Lay hosts the second and forth Fridays of the month for Draglesque. Miranda has the first and third Sundays for Cabaret Sunday. Sheerah and I host the 1st, 3rd and when applicable the 5th for Fridays of the month for DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH. You can also catch one of our specialty shows, 4 Tons of Fun or the Diamonds Invasion shows on the 5th Saturday of any month there is one! Clear as mud?!?! You can always contact the SoCo Club or check the website, sococlub. Speaking of next year, Im beyond delighted to have been asked back/volunteered again for next year. We are already in the planning stages for next years show!
