Now that is indeed interesting. It would be perhaps a little more prudent to concurrently run it in the mice in order to get histological snapshots (dissection of humans is generally frowned upon). I would also remind readers that activated astrocytes from ALS patients are sufficient to kill even motor neurons derived from healthy donors. That will certainly be a factor not seen in their dish assay. BTW: SciOpen Research Group is preparing to also delve into iPSC dish investigations.
