Now that police militarization has gone mainstream (this is what weve been warning you about, people), I hope that Americans will finally get around to having a reasoned discussion about the role of police forces and how to deal with the legacy of racist institutions. I fear that instead this will be treated as yet another isolated incident, and that well be back to worrying about America being terrorized by teddy bear holding children at the border by next Monday.
