Now that the first doctor who attended to Patrick Sawyer has died of the same Ebola Virus Disease, what is our own fate as ordinary people? Is there any hope for Nigeria? Is it going to get worse? Yes there is hope. The doctor, Ameyo Adadevoh, was totally vulnerable because she was the first physician to attend to Patrick and must have made direct contact with him before the diagnosis was made. You did not make direct contact. She would have been off guards. You are not. This is another reminder for you not to attempt to touch or carry anyone who collapses near you or anyone who is sick at all. Simply call 0800 32652 4357. Also remember not to visit hospitals except you are ill. Use your hand sanitizers. It is not likely going to get worse because even though with her death, Nigeria records five Ebola deaths (one was the index case, Patrick Sawyer, one medical doctor: Adadevoh, two nurses and the ECOWAS staff), Nigeria also has five Ebola survivors and three more expected to be discharged later this week.
