Now that time no longer stands to serve as the transcendental horizon for the question of Being for Dasein can no longer if it ever could disclose the world in terms of time in terms of a temporalizing-sein-structure uniting the three ecstases of past of present of future for all we know for now is the now and even now the now has been called into question so just for-now we do not know what to do for temporality is no longer the condition for Dasein in its being-in-the-world despite the tragic fact that we still tend to be tied to the illusion of ontic time for the sake of capitalism and for the sake of the everydayness of the theyness and the themness to do their-thing their-nothing on-time in-time so for-now we are biding-our-time waiting for time to call time Being has already called time being has already called time into question and being has answered the question of time by calling time on time but for being-in-the-world or more precisely beings-in-the-world time has not been called and cannot be called for the foreseeable future for there can be no foreseeable future anyway for from now on we will have to start living without the illusion of a past the illusion of a present the illusion of a future for the human-being exists-openly for the future for if there were no future we would all commit suicide but the future has always already committed suicide just as the present has always already committed suicide just as the the past has always already committed suicide for suicide is committed illusion What will you do with all that time on your hands now your hands are free from time and what will happen to those millions worldwide who have been incarcerated in prison serving time now having no-time to serve and what will happen to the billions of commuters who have to be at work on time and make sure they leave on time to get to work on time when there is no time to get to work by when there is no time to leave home by or what about all those trillions of train-timetables or flight-timetables and those trillions who have to meet on time at a rendezvous not forgetting taking-time-minuting-meetings and not forgetting attending-appointments thus calling the end of time means calling the end of prison-cells means calling the end of cell-phones Alex Verney-Elliott, Being Time, Being & Alien, Bloomsbury, London: 2014.
