Now that you have seen the farmers "behind the scenes" I would like to give you some information on Fair Trade. Fair trade means farmers around the globe from whom we source our ingredients earn a fair wage and work in safe conditions. Two perfect examples: 1) in our cooperative in Morocco where we harvest neroli flower, we employ women and provide them with a fair wage which allows them to be financially independent as well as providing a family meal 2) in Kenya where we harvest our starflower, our farmers are provided with a family bicycle and solar paneled electricity. We also just facilitated running water in the village! We also give them the money they need for their children to attend secondary school, which typically most families cannot afford to send their children to in these developing countries. Just a few of many examples where integrity begins with the sourcing of our ingredients! I am so proud to be a part of NYR!!
