Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make - TopicsExpress

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:18 Peace has several different definitions if you look it up in the dictionary. The one that I think applies to us today is: a state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations. Sometimes in our lives this doesn’t happen overnight. It can be easy for us to forgive, but a lot of times it is hard for us to forget. We may not agree with someone or something in our lives and the disagreement usually means our emotions and feeling are 180 degrees of the peace we should have in our lives as Christians. This can be so true if we are doing anything else in our lives that would not be pleasing to God. Many people, when they are faced with a dilemma like to use the WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) when they approach a situation. I would challenge us today to ask the question of “Would I do this in front of Jesus?” We as Christians should ask this question because Jesus is always with us. If we are living our lives in disarray, then we are not living the life Jesus has called us to live. If we are not living our life for Jesus, then we do not have peace. Just as the scripture says today, if we do not have peace, then “the fruit of righteousness” just simply can’t be sown. This point is even more amplified if we have strife or disagreements among our brother and sisters and Christ. How hard is it for us to make peace among ourselves? It is really not that hard as long as we put Christ in front of everything we do. Once that peace is established especially in our churches, then we can get after the mission of doing what God has called us as a church to do and sow the harvest. God loves you and I hope you have a blessed day.
