Now the second part of my post about my experience with Rome ER - TopicsExpress

Now the second part of my post about my experience with Rome ER yesterday. This is for those people that, perhaps due to medical concerns, like me who has AFIB, and need to drink decaf coffee, be very very careful when buying your decaf at Dunkin Donuts or Dippin Donuts on Erie Blvd. I used to go to Dippin every Saturday morning for a Caramel Iced Coffee. I stopped going because I saw the gals make it a couple of times. Each time they would put sugar in the cup and then add a splash of regular coffee to melt the sugar and then finish the rest with decaf. Well for someone like me who gave up caffeine over 3 years ago, that is like adding a shot of Espresso to my drink and the effect it can have on me is crazy. So I started going to Dunkin for my iced coffees. Yesterday, I ordered a Pumpkin Spice iced coffee and was given a Pumpkin Mocha. I had wanted to try that one too, and since there was a long like in drive thru, I only asked the guy if he had for sure used decaf and he hesitated for a moment and then said yes. In hindsight, I should have second guessed him. Just under 4 hours later I was having a massive AFIB attack and had to take myself to the ER and stay there overnight so they could get my 180 heart rate down to normal. When the issue first happened at Dippin, I sent an email through the company website and never received a reply. I am waiting to see what Dunkin has to say about it. So for those of you out there that order decaf anything....be very wary!
