Now, the worst part of my job is - bar none - heading out to car accidents or house fires. To snap pictures and ask questions of police officers or fire fighters as just meters away someones home has burned to the ground or the wreckage of a fatal car collision - or even worse - a body is still present. Such was the case today for me. Why do we take photos? In this case, people are already advocating for the twinning of this stretch of highway. Its photos like these that make people call their MLA and demand changes with photo evidence in hand. And, with social media, the photos are out there anyways on Facebook, Twitter and everywhere else. So I hope when you see this photo, you wont wish that someone I knows dies in a tragic car accident, like this person did on The News Facebook page, but instead, drive safely, say goodbye when you step out and be thankful for your friends and families who travel Nova Scotias sometimes treacherous roads.
