Now there is a second health care worker with ebola in Dallas, who helped care for the original patient, who died. Now they are expecting more cases, and its coming out that not only was that particular Texas hospital not prepared to deal with the disease, but there is inadequate preparation all around the US. The protocols which Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) has used for years with a high degree of success are beyond the protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control in the US. We dont have a Surgeon General because the nominated physician has been blocked by the National Rifle Association because he dared to say that guns are a public health issue. Ebola just might be the event that shows the limits of the very expensive health care system we have in the US.
