Now there you go. You get a few nights at the club watching members race, quite happy and relaxed your best time on the track if safe then it happens. Something develops during a normal race and your time sudden becomes the target. My arch ‘nemesis’ on the track Michael Daley managed two fantastic first and second segments of a race getting a very respectable 30 laps for the first half of his race. My attention along with other club members was now a 100%. What would he do on his next segment, our notorious yellow lane? Well he pulled it out of the bag meaning with just one final segment of the race to go my time could have been blasted into best race time oblivion. Amazingly Michael was more composed than me at this stage on my record run. I was looking like someone who had been forced to peel a sack of onions with tears running down my cheeks because of the pressure. Cool dude Michael was walking by the rostrum supping his can of pop chatting watching occasional the countdown clock getting ever closer to the start of his last but very crucial segment. Well guys, my time I’m sad to say survived the onslaught of Michael’s efforts. For the whole race he managed an average lap time of 15.929 seconds giving him a very respectable ‘Time on Track’ for the race of 14 minutes 52.019 seconds knocking up 56 laps. His target, my time was 56 laps, race laps average time of 14.470 seconds and a ‘Time on Track’ for the race of 14 minutes 33.812 seconds. Great race Michael. It was great to watch. Like you I think I need to be pushing for that 57 lapper. Janet x
