Now through Wednesday, the New Beverly Cinema on Beverly Blvd. in west LA is hosting a double-feature tribute to the late great artist H.R. Giger. Showing on the New Bevs beautiful big screen is the 1979 classic ALIEN, scripted by my friend and colleague Dan OBannon, for which Giger shared an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, along with this years stunning documentary JODOROWSKYS DUNE, Frank Pavichs chronicle of the greatest sci-fi movie never made (with which both Dan and Giger were instrumentally involved).
