Now what should be done for pakistan cricket in a build up for CWC 2015 1. Forget about t20 cricket and shift focus to ODIs but do not forget what happened in ICC World T20 2014. 2. Bring back stability and solidity at no.3,4 and 5. Younis khan at #3, Misbah at #4 and Fawad Alam at #5. many people will disagree it saying they play very slowly but the point is 240 is a very decent and defendable total on Australian and Newzealand pitches and 260 is a winning total. So a technically sound player in Younis Khan on lightning fast Australian tracks at #3 is the requirement of the team. 3. Hafeez and Ahmad Shahzad should open the innings. knowing that there is a lot of solidity and experience in the middle order, Hafeez and Shahzad should adopt the approach of the greats HAYDEN and GILCHRIST who used to have stable batsmen in Ricky Ponting and Damien Martyn at no. 3 and 4. There is no point in blocking the new ball in Australian conditions. You will only end up edging behind to the keeper or slips. So attack and a positive approach at the top of the order is the key to success in Australia. 4. Umar akmal and Shahid Afridi at no. 6 and 7 respectively and should be allowed to play their natural game. There should be a flexibility in the batting order according to the situation. e.g. Pakistan is in a a very strong position say 180/2 in 35 overs or 200/3 in 40 overs, then Umar akmal or shahid afridi should be promoted up the order to further crush the opposition. 5. AT #8 should be a 100% super fit Umar GUL. he should work on his fitness in the coming months and a 100% fit and in-form Umar gul is a compulsion for Pakistan in the wc2015. 6. Saeed Ajmal and Junaid Khan at # 9 and 10. fully fit Muhammad Irfan at no. 11 will be huuuuuuuuuuuuge bonus for Pakistan. 7. Now reserve players apart from the playing XI should be zulfiqar babar, sohaib maqsood, Anwar Ali, and Nasir Jamshed to make it a perfect 15 member squad. 8. There should be no place for Sharjeel khan in the team. He should go and play tape ball cricket in streets and hit a six every ball. Moreover he is the worst Fielder in the current playing XI. In the fielding he used to give away almost all the runs he makes with the bat and also by dropping a crucial catch. Only our CHIKKA MARKA AWAM who are mostly the blind fans of Shahid Afridi and Imran Nazir will disagree this point. 9. Why is Sohaib Maqsood not in my playing XI? you can clearly see he is only a hard hitter. he doesnt place the ball in gaps to find the boundries instead he used to go over the top to find boundries, so there is a lot of risk involve. he doesnt play flicks, late cuts, and also doesnt improvise when the third man or fine leg are up in the circle. strike rotation is also his weakness and he is prone to runouts. you can see in his batting that the balls which are meant to be cut, he smahes it straight down the ground.... he is a good player, he score runs and thats why he is in the squad, but due to the lack of cricketing shots and lack of strike rotation, he is not in my playing XI but he is in the squad. 10. Nasir Jamshed must find his lost form. He should remain in the contention of the selectors as a threat to Ahmad Shahzad that if he doesnt perform, an equally talented Nasir Jamshed will come to get him. Nasir is a player who scores big consistently when he is in form.... 11. Now coaching staff, Pakistans head coach should be a pakistani and the only capable candidates are Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. so it rules out the need of a bowling coach. Batting coach should be the person who can teach our batsmen how to handle the pressure in crunch situations. The only pakistani candidate is Inzamam-ul-Haq but ill go with MICHEAL BEVAN. He is the best finisher ever to play international cricket and has a good coaching profile in english counties. he can teach our batsmen how to handle the pressure in crunch situations of big matches. Moreover he is an Australian and will guide our batsmen how to play on Australian pitches. Dont worry about the language barrier. our captain is sensible and educated enough to become a bridge. Julien fountain should be recalled as a fielding as he has done a tremendous job recently with the team. 12. Now the team manager should be Dr. Nauman Niaz. No one is more capable than this man. He was the manager of the team from 1999 to 2000 and he has done a terrific job including the ASIA CUP triumph in 2000. 13. Abdur Rahman, Raza Hassan, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Tanvir and Asad Shafiq, Muhammad Talha and Azhar Ali, Wahab Riaz, Bilawal Bhatti and Haris Sohail make up the best available 25 players playing in Pakistan. NOTE: These are the points entirely based on my opinion and my point of view. Objection to these is a possibilty. but I am sure most of the people will agree.
