Now, when someone says, You are more likely to be struck by lightning than have a uterine rupture and then the person learns the true rate... that can scare the bejeezus out of them because they thought their risk was 1 in 700,000 and then they learn its 1 in 240. But who is to blame for that fear? I say, its the person who led that women to believe that the risk was 1 in 700,000 in the first place. These birth myths may seem to sooth women... until they learn the truth and it scares them. But if they knew the truth from the beginning, they wouldnt be scared.
