Nowadays, we Filipinos are fond of watching teleserye. They are scripted, but actual scenes in peoples lives are captured. Just like the teleserye, parables are concrete experiences of people used by Jesus to convey His messages. Parables are called comparison (to mans experiences). Such captures the attention and interest of the hearers (viewers for teleserye). With this, let us reflect on the Gospel (Mt. 13:1-23), the Parable of the Sower which connotes: 1. GODS INCLUSIVITY - the focus on this point is not on where (or to whom) the seeds are sown, but on the manner of sowing, i.e., unconditional. Regardless of who and what the person is, God is continuously bestowing us His guidance and blessings. He is for all for He loves all. He is all inclusive. 2. SALVATIONS ECONOMY - reflecting on Gods way, which is inclusive, may we realize that He really saves. If He is exclusive, His love and saving act is questionable. Gods love is with no ifs and buts, thats is why His saving act is already set and arranged for us. 3. MANS RECEPTIVITY AND COOPERATION - we are already saved (objectively), if we experience otherwise, we fail to cooperate on Jesus saving act. May we always be receptive to the seeds of salvation planted and sown in us (subjective redemption). Have a Blessed Sunday po!
