Nueva Vizcaya electrification program nears completion BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, December 12(PIA) – The national government’s Sitio Electrification Program(SEP) in the province is about to be completed by the end of this month. Engr. Narciso Salunat, Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative(NUVELCO) said there has been a recent release of subsidy funds from the National Electrification Administration (NEA). This will put into the pipeline another set of thirty-eight (38) sitios targeted for implementation, Salunat said. “These are mostly located in the far-flung areas where roads are not even accessible. We therefore express our gratitude to Rep. Carlos Padilla who is supporting our advocacies of bringing electricity to the remotest area of the province and who is even the one responsible in the immediate release of the subsidy funds,” Salunat said. The SEP also provides free electric meters and house wiring facilities to the beneficiaries so they will enjoy the comfort of electricity in their homes. SEP, which is part of Pres. Aquino’s social contract with the people, seeks to attain 90 percent household electrification by 2017 through joint effort of NEA and the electric cooperatives in the country.# bme/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya
