Numbers 26-27 There are many people that try to say that the God of the Old Testament was male chauvinistic. These scriptures prove that is not true. At first there is a count of all male members over the age of 20, this totaled over 600,000. Then God told Moses to divided the land that they were promised among the first born sons of the 12 tribal families. In that division there was a man that died and left nothing but daughters. The daughters went to Moses and said why would our Father lose any land promised him because all he had was daughters and Moses went to God with this problem. God said if there isnt sons to leave the family land to then it is left to the daughters. Understand Hebrews have the same tradition that we do which the woman takes her husbands family name thus if the woman received the land inheritance the land then lost its tribal name and took on the name of the husband. So then in the future, land could possible move from one tribe to another. But God not wanting a family full of daughters to loose their inheritance just because they were women made sure they were part of the inheritance chain. God bless, keep reading, until tomorrow.
