Numerous ways of your Donations and how Madinah Food Pantery Assissts. Mobile food pantry contributions- which help with the expenses of the mobile food pantry that takes food, clothes and household items to families on a weekly basis as needed. This is our greatest expense which involves traveling throughout Northeast Georgia and metro Atlanta to deliver items to families that are needed. Food Drive contributions and collections which assist in purchase of foods that are not normally donated (diabetic and sugar free foods, low sodium foods, particular foods for those suffering from allergies, herbal teas) and in foods quickly depleted once donated (children’s snacks, cereal, condiments, juices, fruits, tuna fish, fruits, eggs, cheese, milk). This is our second greatest expense in making sure there is food in the pantry when families call in need. Household Items contributions which include (toothpaste, soap, laundry and dish detergent, shampoo, baby wipes, diapers, powder, first aid creams, deodorant, combs/brushes and additional personal care products) for families who cannot afford to buy these items. Janaza Fund which enable us to assist Muslim families who cannot afford the costs of funeral and burial arrangements for their loved ones. This past winter we have had some families’ call that needed financial help to cover the costs of burial and funeral expenses. Bill assistance contributions which assist us in helping families who call in for help with bills (electric, water, rent or gas). We refer families to their local masjids in some cases where we are unable to assist them, however, due to the overwhelming amount of requests from families in need some months the local masjids are unable to assist families in dire need. As a result some families in dire need call us asking for assistance to prevent disconnection of their bills or evictions from their homes.
