Nuri forecast to become Alaska Super Storm !,according to Dr. Jeff Masters of Weather Underground; The GFS and European models continue to predict that the extratropical version of Super Typhoon Nuri will become a powerful sub-925 mb low with hurricane-force winds in the western Aleutian Islands on Friday night and Saturday morning. The 00Z Tuesday run of the European model predicted that ex-Nuri would bottom out at 920 mb at 06Z Saturday, a few hundred miles west of the westernmost Aleutian Islands.Dr. Masters is a former Hurricane Hunter who is founder & chief meteorologist for Weather underground.Normally the models predict swells to a certain size,then they usually downgrade to a certain point,this swells model projections show it slowly upgrading as you can see on the second image.What this means is this swell could be coming from one of the most powerful gale storms in history.
