Nurses Defy Minister’s Ultimatum Nurses at the University - TopicsExpress

Nurses Defy Minister’s Ultimatum Nurses at the University Teaching Hospital have continued with their strike action that clocked a week without government addressing them. The nurses who have defied Health Minister Joseph Kasonde’s threat for them to return to work by 17:00 hours yesterday were seen sun basking today as they vowed to stay away from work until Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda addresses them or delivers on his promise a month ago to address their concerns. The nurses are demanding the rectifying of discrepancies in the pay roll system and also demanding a not less than 100 percent increment. So far nurses at the University Teaching Hospital, Levy Mwanawasa, Chipata General, Kasama General and Livingstone Hospitals have been on strike promising not to return to work until their grievances are addressed. zambiareports/2013/11/29/nurses-defy-ministers-ultimatum/
