Nurses and midwives arent the only ones on the receiving end of below-inflation wage slip. Around 25,000 of Queenslands lowest paid public servants are also having to be covered by safety net increases because the award wage provided by the state government is less than inflation. The news comes as a record number of Queensland homes - 25,305 - had the power disconnected in 2013-14 because they could not pay their electricity bill.
