Nutrition Day 5: dairy! Cows milk is very hard for us to digest. Why? Cows have two guts- therefore they have twice the amount of digestion capabilities. Our mere humans have only one. Therefore we really struggle to digest the proteins found in milk. This could lead to bloating, gas and stomach pains. Not only do we have a hard time digesting milk, it also contains strong growth hormones to stimulate the growth of the calves. So, for those of you trying to lose weight dairy might be something you may want to consider swapping for another option. Almond, soya, rice and oat milk are all fortified with vitamin D and others depending on the brand.
