Nutrition for Fat Loss: The Missing Link. Obesity in america is on the rise, unless you have been living under a rock your entire life, you know that. According to the American Heart Association, in 2010, 34.4% of Americas population is obese. How do we fix this? According to just about every fitness professional out there you have to eat less and exercise more. Now all at once america say, WE DID THAT! According to WebMD, i know not the best source just roll with it, 49.6% of the population exercises at least 30 min, 3x per day. When you plot a graph, just trust me i already did it, With Percent of population that exercise and Percent of population that is classified as obese (BMI > 30.0%) verses years, the lines are almost identical. Yep thats right, more people are exercising then ever before and more people are dangerously overweight then ever before. So what is the missing link. If you throw a rock, blind folded, in the general direction of a newsstand, youll hit a magazine with the latest Ultimate Weight Loss Plan. Weight loss diets are simple, Calories in vs. Calories out, thats it, Right? Well, sort of, but thats not the whole story. If that was the case then why is the trend of overweight and obese individuals on the rise. its not for a lack of trying. Its the missing link. Everyone raise your hand if: -You tried a diet and it didnt work -You tried a diet that your sibling/friend had success with, but it didnt work -Diet worked for a while, but now you hit the wall and your not at your goal -You havent tried a diet because they all suck and you want to eat ice-cream If you raised your hand to anyone of these questions, i have the answer for you.
