Nwachi Nnanna(Ekpege) Wrote; PDP ON THE ROAD TO OBEYING THE LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURN. For decade and a quarter, PDP emerged as the peoples party in Nigeria and was glorified as the most populous party in Africa. Its dominance in Nigerian democracy seems to be coming to an end. This is a party that can not boast of much in terms of economic and infrastructural development. Before the the military handed down the baton of leadership to PDP government, Nigerian Naira was N50 to $1 and price of oil was just N17 a liter. Today under PDP misruling, we can now comfortably smile to the bank with N180 for $1 and drive our Innoson IV- UZOR tear rubber to NNPC mega plaza and fill our gas tank with fuel for only N97 a liter, thats for those in cities. 14 years in ruin. So ironic how our PDP democracy have faired much more better than the military regime because the worst democracy is the best of military regime. What a stupid statement? I dont think those who made that comment actually collected PDP sample before proclaiming their result. The recent turn of events in PDP have begin to show the trappings of a failed party. No PDP state was able to achieve a conclusive primary election, in some states, we have a parallel PDP. Ebonyi state have became another party that will breakaway from PDP stronghold in the south east, Rivers state already have destroyed the umbrella flag for long. Out of the five states in South East two will soon be left, If Ebonyi state will succeed in toppling PDP in the forthcoming general election, will become the third state to say no to egregious willy nilly of PDP. Political party is like a commodity, you have to improve on your product to keep attracting the right sales. But this time, is like the demand curve of PDP is about taking the downward slope in respect to the law of diminishing return.
