Número dos (one day late): morning work was spent at "Reforestation," where the goal is to plant trees and plants, and educate Guatemalans on how to be environmentally conscious. We were given work sifting dirt to make it better planting quality, and filling bags with the clean soil. The work was particularly rewarding, because we could actually see the progress we were making, and knew we were part of an important planting process. Turibio, the leader of reforestation, told us about the importance of trees in Guatemala, such as to prevent soil erosion. He also thanked us many times for the work we did. It was inspiring to see how proud he was of his job, and how grateful he was for our help. As it was Saturday, we were given the afternoon off of work, and we used our free time to start a pickup soccer game amongst ourselves, and a few locals (Ambroso, Carlos, Louis, and "Blue Streak"). Despite there being a few.... colorful.... injuries, a splendid time was had by all. Paz y Amor, Erica
