O.M.G. What a day!!! Cold still hanging in, in all ways unpleasant. Nonetheless, its Monday and life beckoned. Paul saw the eye specialist this morning to find out why he isnt seeing as well out of his right eye all of a sudden. Good news: he doesnt seem to have had an optic nerve stroke *colour me shocked when doc mentioned THAT!* Needs blood work to rule out some other weird disease that we all think he doesnt have. Looking like his diabetes is rearing its ugly head again. A 10:30 this morning, we had NO idea how flippin cold it was!!!! Car said -7C, but I swear there was a -70* WINDCHILL!!!!! Went straight through me!!! Couldnt get Paul into the building because of no access until I was so cold that I ran around tot he front of the building to get some help for us soon-to-be frozen corpses, to discover that this docs office was the ONLY one in the whole building with front door access!!!! The secretary had spent 10 minutes trying to find a back door for us, which is usually how Paul gets in to this particular old building. I was cold to the bone for the rest of the day, until our next stop. Then off to Kingsway. My new smartphone has been acting very dumb lately. Took it in, only to discover that it is working perfectly well. Telus rep suggested that when things go wonky, remove and replace the battery, as that clears up 99% of issues. At this point, I had gone from bone-numbing cold to the sweats. Gotta love sinus colds. NOT. A quick trip to Target and we stocked up on a variety of Boost products for Paul as well as lots of decongestant and protein bars for me. Then, a quick stop at the food court so Paul could eat. Note to self...do not buy anything at any food court...you still cant EAT, dumbass! I had a protein bar and felt like Id had a full turkey dinner and all the trimmings. The mini DQ blizzard put me waaaay over the top, but cooled off the sweats. Remaining 9000 errands are still on the list. Will wait for warmer weather and feeling better, physically, before venturing out again. Maybe this time NEXT year!! ;) Arrived home to receive 2 packages of ordered items...new towels for Pauls bathroom (sooo soft) and a gorgeous new bed skirt that should actually fit!!! Gotta wait until Wednesday when Home Care can help me move my 75 inch thick mattress. Just ask Gerry and Casey...theyll tell ya!!! Can finally breathe a bit easier and my body temperature has leveled off. Quiet time for the rest of today and the rest of winter.
