O Nigeria, Have you forgotten with such alacrity the dark days you cried for freedom? You have forgotten the unwanted accessories that adorned your forefathers, singing along with them the songs of sorrow; You have forgotten your mothers back grazed with the whip, her emaciated bony hands, her breast sagging not from your arrival but staunch hunger. Now that you are the “Giant of Africa , You have forgotten the little songs of peace you were taught in the field, rather you sing the song of war and hatred; You have forgotten to look after your brothers, you had rather pride on solipsism. For your religion you say you fight, and I wonder if your God is the same as mine, for mine has power to fight His own course; For your tribe you say you fight, and I dare to ask, “What is Tribe?. Your train is moving too fast. Think O African Child, The hunter has whistled, It is time to return home. (Unedited) (c) OJ 2015.
