O, SAMAR! - (Video credit to lucienyl) A music video depicting Samarenos struggle against massive poverty and their bid for a better life. Samar is the Philippines 3rd largest island yet progress has seemed to be an elusive dream to the people for generations now, and as long as traditional politics and the culture of corruption continue to cloud their simple lives and deprive them of their right to a better future, all will be turned to apathy. This music video is a provocative art medium signifying our advocacy efforts to generate support from Samarenos and our Filipino brothers and make them active players in participatory governance and civil vigilance so they can realize that after all, power is not vested in the ones who rule but innate in the ones being ruled. This is sovereignty. It will be a difficult task to assume but it has to be done now, for the sake of the future generation of the Warays.
