O THAT WE CAN FOLLOW IN CHRIST’S STEPS TODAY! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: [We are called by our Abba Father to live holy lives!] Therefore, WITH MINDS THAT ARE ALERT AND FULLY SOBER, SET YOUR HOPE ON THE GRACE TO BE BROUGHT TO YOU WHEN JESUS CHRIST IS REVEALED AT HIS COMING. As obedient children, DO NOT CONFORM TO [imitate] THE EVIL DESIRES YOU HAD WHEN YOU LIVED IN IGNORANCE [unawareness]. But just as he [our Abba Father] who called you is holy, SO BE HOLY [sanctified] IN ALL YOU DO; for it is written: BE HOLY, BECAUSE I AM HOLY. [OR AS THE Amplified Bible says: BE HOLY IN ALL YOUR CONDUCT AND MANNER OF LIVING.] 1 Peter 1:13-16 [We have been called and chosen to live holy lives!] “…you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, GODS SPECIAL POSSESSION [we have been purchased by the blood of the Lamb], that YOU MAY DECLARE THE PRAISES OF HIM WHO CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS WONDERFUL LIGHT…if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. TO THIS YOU WERE CALLED, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, THAT YOU SHOULD FOLLOW IN HIS STEPS. He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. 1 Peter 2:9,20-22 [We are set apart to walk in holiness!] “BLESSED [set apart] are those WHOSE WAYS ARE BLAMELESS [innocent], who walk according to the law [commandment] of the LORD. Blessed are those who keep his statutes [rulings] and SEEK HIM WITH ALL THEIR HEART-- THEY DO NO WRONG BUT FOLLOW HIS WAYS.” Psalms 119:1-3 [Again, we have been chosen to be holy!] “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, WHO HAS BLESSED US IN THE HEAVENLY REALMS WITH EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING IN CHRIST. FOR HE CHOSE US IN HIM BEFORE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD TO BE HOLY and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- to the praise of his glorious grace, WHICH HE HAS FREELY GIVEN US IN THE ONE HE LOVES. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RICHES OF GODS GRACE THAT HE LAVISHED [heaped] ON US.
