OAB Omaha Association of the Blind Founded in 1922. It is the mission of the Omaha Association of the Blind to promote the social, intellectual and economic welfare of the blind, to work toward their interests in general and to foster a feeling of fraternity and fellowship. We are recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The Omaha Association of the Blind is in the process of planning our inaugural "Tandem Bicycle Rally with the Blind". This annual bicycle rally will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at Lake Zorinsky Bike Trail located at 168th and Q Street in Omaha. We are currently seeking assistance for the following: • Sighted bicycle captains to accompany the blind riders on tandem bicycles. • To borrow good condition tandem bicycles for the day and trolley Bicycle for four bikers. • Bicycle Helmets. • Bicycle Mechanics for bicycle repairs, including seat and handlebar adjustments, and tire repair, etc. • Trailers and bicycle racks for transporting the tandem bicycles. Lunch will be provided by the OAB members to express our appreciation for your participation. Your participation in this exciting bicycle rally would be appreciated.
