OBAMACARE RANT: anyone else dealing with the open enrollment project today? The underlying principle that bugs me so much about the Obamacare is the idea of being required to relinquish responsibility for our health, our life, our money, and hence our freedom. The government and the employer do not OWN you. Your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness is not your own if you give control of your health to the government.The fact that your income determines your rates, as if the care, cost and value of service would not be the same as it would be for a different income person....so fundamentally WRONG. Every person, no matter the income level, is the same value. Every person should be able to choose freely rather than be forced as if with a cattle prod to conform to the governments idea of sickness management. Its a sad situation when your insurance premium is nearly as much as your mortgage payment! That seems to indicate that you are so certain that you will get sick or injured that you must invest in it, you have no choice. That which you focus on will expand...well, if you are paying that much for your sickness focus, then the sickness will EXPAND! Good business, expanded market potential for the sickness industry. I would rather focus on and invest in my health, plan on staying healthy, and pay a reasonable premium for the unlikely event of a catastrophic crisis. I will stop my rant for today, but I sure would love some ideas to get out from under this restraint. Your thoughts?
