OBSERVING CHAMELEONS, CAMEROONIANS HAVE A LOT TO CONCLUDE ABOUT POLITICS AND THEIR POLITICIANS. Go into the forest (the Cameroon political play-ground) and you will discover chameleons and all the tricks. Consider their ways and be wise. Should you observe well these chameleons on their political play-ground, you will learn the following positive lessons of rigging: 1. That these chameleons take a direction and will not change it, no matter the cry of rough play. At the detriment of free and fair elections, these chameleons take to being precise on their objectives, because they want to succeed at all cost, in any form and remain in power. 2. That when they sense danger of other political opponents, they turn their eyes only to look at them with the impression that they are prepared for a level political play-ground whereas their heads remain steady facing the direction of their objectives to remain in power. The political field reads the past, present and the future, but these chameleons on play-ground look at their future only and by any means focus on any end to justify the means. 3. In political movements on the play-ground, no calendar is clearly drawn and placed to the know of political opponents to let prudence be in the game. These chameleons know their weakness, that with prudence, their opponents can break their fence and bring them down the ladder of power. They know that as they remain the only ones prudent in political game, opponents will do them no harm and they will not be harmed on the political play ground till the opponents run out of energy and surrender to their injustice. 4. These chameleons do not have that spirit of good sportsmanship to be friendly. They look at all corners of the field to be full of preys for their consumption. As such they always send out their tongues tasting preys suitable for their consumption. They know that preys are poisonous and harmful and as such they wash the poison in them using enough state resources, and render not harmful for their consumption. That is what happened in the last senatorial elections and might happen again in the twin elections of 30th September, 2013. Where are we and where are we heading to? 5. Finally when these chameleons reach any environment, they instantly change their colours to suit the environment. They do not force the environment to look like them. This is because they are very deceitful and prudent to understand that they cannot take the people to a zero point by force, but by cajoling them and closing their eyes to facts. Ecumenical service for peace organized by the Fons of Northwest , were they praying to a God that changes like a chameleon as they do, a deceitful God as they are, or who were they praying to and what were they praying for? We can deceive man, but not God. Will God not be happier to answer an ecumenical prayer for the cancellation of the 30th September, 2013 twin elections, and a proper level political ground prepared, than answering a prayer for elections that the people are so dis-satisfied with the tricks of chameleons? The answers are blowing in the wind. After all, who rejects the fact that when put into the same room with mad people ,you have to look mad too until you are able to change one of them to normal, who will in turn gradually change others and all will be what you are. This is to say that a country of the mad or insane, if the sane do not become careful, they can become the insane and pay the penalty squarely. Where are we and where are we heading to? The insane and the sane all in the same boat heading towards the unknown. What a nightmare to the sane, and a comfortable journey to the insane. May the lord have mercy on us for organizing a deceitful ecumenical service for peace? What can God do to provide peace when there is no justice? Where is the justice when democracy in Cameroon means from all to some and not all for all? Rev. Prof. Tita Samuel Fon Honorary Chairman and Founder Cameroon People’s Party - CPP
