OCC will host the OCC Community Band, with its first meeting to be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 in Room 216 at Olney Central College. The band is directed by Suzanne Downes, Director of Bands at OCC. Its membership over the past eight years has been a diverse mix of varying musical experiences, ages and backgrounds. The OCC Community Band rehearses on Tuesday nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will perform a concert on Thursday, May 14. The theme of this year’s program is “Moments in Time,” featuring works that represent major milestones of American history, as well as milestones in individual lives.
