OCO-2 Readies for Launch NASAs Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) is scheduled to launch no earlier than July 1, 2014, from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. OCO-2 will be NASA’s first Earth-observing satellite dedicated to the study of atmospheric carbon dioxide from space. OCO-2 will collect global carbon dioxide measurements with the precision, resolution, and coverage needed to characterize sources and sinks on regional scales.
