OCTOBER 07, 2014 ‘Aksyon Barangayan’ successfully launched in Monkayo, CVP Camp Kalaw, Poblacion, Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province – ‘Aksyon Barangayan’, a Monkayo LGU initiative, in collaboration with the Army 25th IB, PNP, BFP and other Gov’t Agencies, with the intent of bringing forward basic government services into communities was successfully launched 6:00 PM of 07 October 2014 in Brgy. Pasian, Monkayo, CVP today. The community outreach is a scheduled as a 2-day free medical and dental service, laboratory services and free circumcision, and other services, and has recorded a total of 479 local resident beneficiaries during its first day alone. Present during the first day launch is Monkayo Municipal Mayor Joselito B Brillantes, Vice Mayor Hon Manuel “JUNJUN” B Brillantes Jr together with the SB members, 25IB with the 10ID Medical team led by P2LT JOSEPH WINCOR A BACUS (MC) PA, and 1370th Dental Detachment led by P2LT MICHAEL C BRIONES (DS) PA, PNP, BFP, MHO, MENRO, MSWD, MAGRO, Municipal Assessors Office, Civil Registrar, MEO and the BLGU of Pasian. The spirit of Bayanihan once again was displayed through the convergences of efforts between the Local Government of Monkayo and other agencies which contributed to the success in the delivery of free services intended for all. As Monkayo Municipal Vice Mayor puts it in his message during the activity, “walay ginapili ni, mapapula ka man o puti; basta serbisyo”. Major General Eduardo M. Año, commander of the 10th Infantry Division which provided the medical and dental teams for the activity said, We all need to be involved in addressing the root causes of the armed conflict. While your army exerts the military pressure against the armed groups, it is in converged efforts like this that we exert social pressure towards the abandonment of arms by groups who have chosen it as a way of life.
