OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH At the beginning of the month, South Carolina was determined to be one of the deadliest states in the nation for woman as a result of domestic violence. Below is a free assessment (The Danger Assessment) that you can look at. There are several risk factors that have been associated with increased risk of homicides (murders) of women and men in violent relationships. And although no one can predict what will happen in each individual case, we would like you to be aware of the danger of homicide in situations of abuse and for you to see how many of the risk factors apply to your situation.
