OCTOBERS HANDMADE BRIGADE When: Wednesday, October 16, 7 p.m. Where: Lawrence Public Library, Lawrence Get crafty with librarian Rachael and your local community at Handmade Brigade! Join the Lawrence Public Library and the Percolator Artspace to celebrate El Día de los Muertos, The Day of the Dead. El Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday in which families celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed away with elaborate altars, food and song. Octobers Handmade Brigade invites participants to construct altars to honor someone who has died. Bring pictures, trinkets and food items that the person (or pet) loved during his or her lifetime. We will provide the the altar and decorating material. Program will be at the library, and altars will be displayed at the Percolator Artspace, 913 Rhode Island, as part of their Día de los Muertos celebrations.
