ODE TO JOHN CHILEMBWE John Chilembwe (1871 - February 3, 1915) was a Baptist pastor and Educator who after attaining Education in the US he thought of coming back to Nyasaland, took a leave of the burgers of those days. On his return he saw how oppressive the then slave drivers - Colonials were and thought of taking an action and liberate the ruled. Hallelujah! Amen! In church and later on to see the congregants being greeted by the cruel task masters, irked John. One day they decided to send a message to the ruling elite that the ruled were fed up. Maybe contact and dialogue was not yet introduced in their dictionary or it was there but there was a gate that barred the two sides from sitting and having a tete-a-tete. Todays holiday is in memory of that message. After preaching one of the disciples of Jesus said Master, we have taught them it is getting dark allow them to go in the neighbourhood for them to be accommodated and get their food provisions Jesus said, you will provide for them thats where food was provided. It is as if what happened here led John to care not only for the spiritual needs of the people but also their physical needs. We have examples of people who offered solutions to governments one of them being Joseph who after his solutions the king offered him a position not to gag his mouth, no, but as a thank you and because he carried the grace on how the solution could best be done. Mordecai, the gate man is another who tipped the king of an imminent danger but harsh task masters overtook him and snatched what belonged to him as a reward. It didnt go well with the snatchers. Jesus Christ left heaven, according to a description of the bible, it is a nice place and came down on earth walked on this land to five us life and for us to have it in abundance. On a smaller scale of what he will do when his kingdom come as per Daniel 2:44 he healed the sick, raised the dead, the blind were made to see again, the deaf began to hear, the lame walked. Soon Jesus is coming again as a fulfilment of a prophecy recorded at Revelation 21:4 to wipe every tear of mankind #liberated_and_free.
