Often, foreigners steal our jobs because the jobs pay shit that only those who have left everything behind, who have nothing to lose, would take them. Our governments, in cahoots with our corporations, make this possible. Immigration laws and employment policies strip foreigners of their humanity and deny them rights so they would take the jobs that pay inhumanly. These are jobs that even if we wanted we wouldnt accept the shit rewards and the shit conditions. We would have protested. But because the foreigners have no money, no contacts, speak no local languages, they couldnt protest. They take our shit. And now this tells us we are shit, implying that if only we worked harder, are smarter, the jobs would have been ours. No amount of hard work and brilliance can make the difference when the conditions are set up to keep society inequal. It keeps us divided. It prevents us from standing together in solidarity with our brothers and sisters, whether they are from here or elsewhere. Our governments and corporations make us think the foreigners are stealing our jobs so we will think the foreigners are the enemies. The enemies are those who deny our rights, steal our humanity, create the conditions for our desperation, and reward us all with shit.
