OFFICE OF THE MAYOR OFFICE OF THE MAYOR (CONTRACT POSITION i.e. based on the political term of the incumbent Mayor) SALARY: R304 173-27 INCLUSIVE ANNUAL PACKAGE (REFERENCE NO: MAY 01/2013) REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES ! Matric or equivalent qualification or and relevant tertiary qualification. ! Computer literacy ! An understanding of the social, political and public policy environment within which the Mayor operates. ! Institutionalized general knowledge of local government and or broad knowledge of legislative framework in local government ! Analytical skills on variety of topics ! Experience in socio-political and labour leadership ! Strategic thinker with good communication and management skills ! Intellectual authority and command on national, provincial and local issues. ! Personnel Management ability KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS ! Provide advisory and support service to the Mayor with regard to political and topical issues that affects the municipality ! Manage, organise ensure implementation of the Mayoral special projects and plays an oversight and mentoring of Community Development Workers (CDWs). ! Responsible for managing and development of plans oversight programmes of the budget and IDP. ! Assist Ward Councillors and Ward Committees draft discussion documents and policy development for Council ! Manage the interface of the political arm of Mayors office, Council Committees as well as administration. ! Speech writing and research for the Mayors office ! Ensure compliance with protocol ! Develop and manage community and stakeholders interactive programmes ! Ensure that the Mayors office comply with the relevant legislative framework MANAGER DIRECTORATE: COOPERATIVE SERVICES ONE (1) YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT (REFERENCE NO: IT 01/2013 SALARY: R88 285-20 ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES ! Grade 12 with Maths and Science ! A recognised IT related technical qualification(s) ! 1-2 years actual work experience in an IT environment will be an advantage ! Ability to communicate in English & Afrikaans and formulate written reports ! Code EB drivers licence ! Ability to work in a team & extended hours ! Thorough and attentive to details ! Methodical and accurate ! Able to do physical manual labour: installations of PCs at various work stations KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS ! Installation of all new PC hardware and software ! Supports and maintain PC hardware and software ! Analysing PCs problems, faults identification and undertaking first-line servicing and/or reporting the faults to the relevant agency ! Repairs and replaces all broken or faulty equipments, or make appropriate referrals ! Test all repaired equipment and take corrective measures where necessary ! Handles all first line problems determination calls at user locations ! Advices and assist PC users with the operation of approved software packages ! Installs and configure network (local area) cablings and stations ! Conducting of regular equipment audits ! Respond to IT related audit queries ! Formulate relevant policies and action plan ! Manage and coordinate IT service providers !
