OFFICER RECOVERING ... an OHPD officer hit by a passing car last night is expected to return to work in a few days. Officer Jason Schaetzke was standing next to his cruiser, that was stopped with its overhead lights flashing on Bancroft between Talmadge and Richards Roads, when he was sideswiped by a passing SUV just before midnight. The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year old Toledo man, was arrested and charged with DUI, aggravated vehicular assault, and several other offenses. Schaetzke was transported to Toledo Hospital where he was subsequently treated and released.
