OGUN RENOVATES DENTAL HEALTH CENTRES In its continuous drive towards achieving a major priority of the five – point agenda, the Ogun State Government has embarked on another phase of renovation of health facilities. The Commissioner for Health, Dr Olaokun Soyinka made this known in Abeokuta stating that the State government is renovating dental centers located at Abeokuta, Sagamu, Ilaro, Ijebu-Ode and Ota. He pointed out the dental centers which were once dilapidated are now being upgraded and equipped. Dr Olaokun noted that caring for the mouth has been a neglected area and stressed the importance of good oral hygiene in relation to general health. To this end, he disclosed that oral health care is currently being integrated into primary healthcare centres. This move will help to prevent disease of the mouth and teeth by improving access to people across the state and especially in rural areas. The Commissioner emphasized the importance of encouraging prevention in healthcare and stressed that the Senator Ibikunle led administration remains committed to making healthcare affordable to all.
