OGUN WANTS CITIZENS TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES TO SECURITY AGENTS PROMPTLY General members of the public in Ogun State have been reminded of the need to be vigilant about happenings in their communities at all times and when necessary, report any unwholesome activity they suspect to relevant security agencies for necessary actions. The State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Elizabeth Sonubi gave this advice while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta following the recent discovery of a baby making factory, affirming that government was desirous of ridding the State of criminally minded- people. Mrs. Sonubi pointed out that illicit acts such as the recent discovery of baby-making factories, rape issues, child trafficking and other related vices had become rampant in the society, saying the ugly development required that all hands must be on the deck to reverse the trend. “Socio-security is for all of us, it is not government work alone, so let us collaborate by putting synergies together to ensure that we protect our children from child abuse, child trafficking and issue of rape, the state government has zero tolerance for all these vices and anybody caught in the act would face the wrath of law” Sonubi stated. She disclosed that as parts of measures by her Ministry to arrest the ugly incidents, it had established zonal social welfare offices in the 20 local government areas to ensure that private owned orphanages abide with laid down rules, recalling that recently, government also set up a multi sectoral task force to ensure that all school age children in the State are actually in the schools and not wandering about.
