OH HOW I WISH I HAD SEEN THIS BEFORE GMC SIERRA LANDED IN HAZELWOOD ESTATE, BRIDGETOWN, CO. WEXFORD. I contacted Irish Water prior to their arrival and requested that all relevant documentation be available for inspection to verify for myself that all was in order. This was their response: Thank you for your email on the 25th April regarding your meter installation. Irish Water monitors that all contractors working for or on our behalf successfully fulfil their Health and Safety duties as is required by legislation. Irish Water carries out continual critical reviews of Regional Contractors documentation and Safety Management Systems. These include reviews of site awareness, safety statements and risk assessments. Thorough audits are also carried out by Irish Water on all aspects of Health and Safety. From a Health and Safety perspective, construction workers are bound by law to hold a valid Safe Pass card. Any employees to whom this is applicable will have submitted the details to their employer and would be available to Irish Water on request. The current meter installations being undertaken by contractors on behalf of Irish Water are on public accessible land. In addition, there is also continuous liaison with the Local Authority in regard to the works. Our contractors are under no legal obligation to present this information to members of the public. However, should you have any concerns, please contact the Health and Safety Authority who will investigate as the appropriate body. All personnel working on our behalf have under gone thorough Irish Water Safety Training as part of their detailed induction. Judging from this video - Irish Water lied to me!!! Note especially - Our contractors are under no legal obligation to present this information to members of the public.
