OH, MEINE GUTE! ... WIE GEFALLT IHNENE IHRE SAURER KRAUT? OH, MY GOODNESS ... HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR SAURKRAUT? Saurkraut is a healthy food. Cabbage is good for you ... The vinegar is a tonic to your system ... The cabbage helps one to be regular and provides excellent nutrition ... Okay. Okay. Maybe the SALT is questionable for those who should not have too much. But, saurkraut provides vitality and a cleansing of ones overall system. Not only that --- it tastes great and goes well with sausage, hot dogs, pork chops, black-eyed peas, pork n beans, potatoes, smothered steak, chicken fried steak, on a hamburger ... and a myriad of comfort food dishes. Yep. Many folk love it. Granted, some dont. It can be an acquired taste. Yes, there is an on-going debate as to the best way to eat saurkraut ... There are those who love it hot ... Those who love it refrigerator cold ... And those who love it at room temperature. For me, I like it no matter how it is served. I even eat it right out of the can or jar. Of course, I put some Louisiana Hot Sauce on it and lots of black pepper to bring it up to my standards of taste. But, essentially, saurkraut is a staple to the diet. Having a big Polish Dill Pickle with my Kraut is a big plus, to my way of thinking and eating ... So, dear Banana Heads --- how do YOU like your Saurkraut as to temperature and/or with what other foods? ... Oh, I expect we will hear more from the German heritage folk than any others, but Im thinking Czechs, Poles, English, Hispanic and others find the invigorating taste of Saurkraut to their liking as well. Okay --- let the Kraut comments commence! :)
